My relationship with the sea began in my childhood years as a professional swimmer at the Büyükdere Sports Club. This early bond I formed with the water deepened over time with sailing boats, and the sea became an indispensable part of my life. Eventually, it carried me into my professional career. Today, I take great pride in being part of the maritime industry, representing both my identity as a woman and my professional expertise.
Although the visibility of women in the maritime sector has increased compared to the past, it has not yet reached the desired level. For women to have a stronger presence in the industry, powerful networks must be established where women support one another and share their experiences. Making female role models visible and strengthening corporate support mechanisms is also crucial.
If you wish to take your place in this industry, never give up on your dreams, on learning, and on producing. Trust yourself and remember: every step you take with courage and determination will make you the captain of your own path.
